12 new electric buses will power the fleet of Warsaw

The total cost of the project is PLN 47.2 million. The purchased vehicles will be articulated, low-floor (with the option of the so-called "kneeling" to facilitate boarding) and adapted to transport people with disabilities. They will carry a maximum of 125 people at a time (with 35 seats). Their combined annual mileage is expected to be 720,000. km/year. The buses will be serviced by 25 people from the technical team, which will receive additional training as part of the investment involving the purchase of vehicles. The project will end in March 2025.
Introduction of electric buses into traffic, e.g. in places with a high density of cars, it will have an anti-smog effect and reduce urban noise. Their regular use in the capital's collective transport will also result in an ecological effect: reduction of emissions of dust with a diameter of less than 10 micrometers (PM10) and nitrogen oxides. At the same time, climate-positive reductions in carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere will be achieved.
PLN 38.4 million from the pool of government funds made available by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management will be allocated by the capital city of Warsaw for the purchase of 12 electric buses. The co-financing, which consists of PLN 13.4 million of grants and a loan of approx. PLN 25 million, will be provided from the "Green Public Transport" programme.
